Are you using the internet to  stream TV shows and movies? Let's talk about the dos and don'ts to ensure a smooth viewing experience.

Choosing the Right Streaming Services

We support official TV streaming services available in South Africa. This includes platforms like Netflix, Disney+, and others officially accessible in our region. However, using VPNs to access international feeds may cause latency and other issues. While it might work, we can't provide support for such setups.

Additionally, we can't guarantee a good viewing experience on unofficial or pirated streaming sites. These sites may seem tempting, but they often come with risks and unsupported issues.

Recommended Streaming Devices

For high-quality streaming, consider investing in reliable devices like Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, or Smart TVs. These devices offer seamless integration with official streaming services and ensure a smoother experience.

Avoid cheap Android boxes, as they may have older firmware, lack updates, and feature lower-speed hardware. This can lead to performance issues and frustration while streaming.

Optimising Your Setup

When setting up your streaming device, use LAN cables to connect to the router whenever possible. This ensures a stable and fast connection, reducing the chances of buffering and interruptions.

If using Wi-Fi, consider the distance from the router. Closer proximity means a stronger signal and better streaming quality.

Testing Your Connection

Before diving into your favourite show, run speed tests and check for latency. This helps confirm if there are any issues with your connection. We recommend a minimum of a 10Mbps service for standard streaming and preferably at least a 20Mbps service for HD or 4K streaming.

By following these guidelines, you can enjoy a hassle-free streaming experience on your TV or streaming device. Remember, prioritising official streaming services and using reliable devices can make all the difference in your entertainment setup
