Sending Email on the Rapidnet Network Print

  • 1

At Rapidnet, we understand the importance of seamless email communication. Here's how you can send emails while connected to our network:

For 3rd Party Mail Services

If you use 3rd party mail services like Gmail, or have POP3 or IMAP mail hosted elsewhere, you'll need to configure your email client accordingly. Contact your mail provider for specific details on configuring SMTP Authentication. Additionally, due to the prevalence of SPAM, we recommend using SMTPS or Submission for sending emails. These protocols typically use port 465 for SMTPS and port 587 for Submission.

Email Hosting with Rapidnet

For those in need of personalised email or business email hosting, we offer email-only hosting services. We can provide you with the necessary mail server details to configure your email client. However, please note that we are unable to assist with 3rd party mail services that we do not control.

SMTP Authentication and Port Usage

When sending emails via our network, ensure that your email client is configured to use SMTP Authentication. This helps prevent unauthorised access to our network resources. Additionally, use SMTPS or Submission protocols for enhanced security. The recommended ports for SMTPS and Submission are port 465 and port 587, respectively.

Contacting Support

If you encounter any difficulties or require assistance with email configuration on our network, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team. We're here to help ensure smooth email communication for our clients.

At Rapidnet, we aim to provide reliable and secure email services for our clients. Whether you're using 3rd party mail services or email hosting with us, following these guidelines will help ensure seamless email communication while connected to our network.
